Why should he? Why not the woman? Why does a family need a hierarchy with one person at the top? The assumption that it's "the natural role" is not backed up by science, nature, psychology, or anything but social norms. We do not play roles in our home. It is completely unnecessary. I do not need to pray to god to change my husband's heart because I can just tell him he's being a butthead and I am able to stand up for myself should he be hurtful and cross healthy boundaries.

While everything you said is certainly a personal preference for you, that's all it is. It is not a universal standard and it is not necessary to have a good marriage relationship.Darcyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03702441292981376229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3113535730415912557.post-7251853007246668232015-03-31T11:22:09.388-07:002015-03-31T11:22:09.388-07:00Uh-no. That is what communication if for and that is what prayer is for.... sometimes we pray for patience and sometimes we pray that God changes his heart or perhaps changes our heart so that we can understand "our man" better and be there for him as he needs us to be. Christian or not, I still believe a man needs to be the head of the household, the leader, the guider and most of all the protector of his wife and children. It's a natural role to fulfill, actually. Men usually LOVE to be manly, masculine and play the role of protector and provider.
